Certified for grades K-4, my initial intention was to focus on teaching kindergarten and second grade. However, my perspective shifted when my young cousin, who has autism, provided me with the opportunity to witness the curiosity and eagerness to learn among older students. Consequently, I have since gained valuable experience teaching second, third, and fourth grades.
With a Second specialization in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) k-12 and my personal journey of learning another language, I am equipped with effective teaching methodologies, professional tools, and an understanding of the unique needs required to instruct in diverse classroom settings.
Enhancing reading and writing abilities is fundamental for every student's academic journey. I am endorsed in Language Arts, emphasizing the importance of fostering these essential skills.
As part of my professional background, I specialize in working with special needs students. I believe this is where my strengths lie, and I collaborate closely with each student to achieve positive progress outcomes.Implemented structured classroom routines and management strategies tailored to meet student needs, thereby cultivating individual student and classroom achievements. Utilized in-depth author and novel studies to teach reading strategies and enhance literacy skills. Established communication channels with families through face-to-face meetings, newsletters, and emails to foster rapport and celebrate student accomplishments. Additionally, provided instruction in physical education exercises, team-building activities, and team sports to promote overall physical well-being. Additional Services: Annual Stress-Free Homeschooling Evaluations. My experience teaching foreign language at all education levels has allowed me to conduct stress-free annual evaluations for the past two years for students I have been teaching since my BA studies.
